Do you like drinking tea? I love it so much. I wanted to make this account’s name something about tea instead of turkishwithturkishcoffee. But there were already a lot of accounts about tea, so even though I like tea more, I found a name related to coffee. But I actually like tea more than coffee. And most Turks are like me. Turks generally love drinking tea a lot. Do you like drinking tea, too?

Ben mesela dediğim gibi çok seviyorum, sabah kahvaltıda çay içerim, akşam yemekten sonra çay içerim. Bazen öğlen de çay içerim. Yani Türkler de benim gibi. Gün içinde sürekli çay içiyorlar. Ve aslında çok fazla çay içiyorlar. Mesela Türkler genelde bir bardak çay içmezler. Mesela çay içmeye başladılar mı üç dört bardak içerler. Ve her zaman çay içmek için  bir bahaneleri vardır, bir sebepleri vardır.

Neyse.. Şimdi biraz size Türk çayının nasıl yapıldığından bahsetmek istiyorum. 

Türk çayı çaydanlık kullanılarak yapılıyor. Çayı yaptığımız kaba çaydanlık deniyor. Çaydanlık iki kısımdan oluşuyor. Bir alt kısmı var bir de üst kısmı var. Önce üst kısma biraz çay koyuyorsunuz. Ben mesela sadece kendim için yapacaksam 2-3 kaşık çay koyuyorum. Sonra da bu çayın üzerine kaynar su ekliyorsunuz. İçme suyu kullanırsanız daha iyi olur. Çünkü içme suyu musluk suyundan daha lezzetli. Alt kısmına da su koyuyorsunuz ve kaynaması için ocağa koyuyorsunuz çaydanlığı. Anyway.. Now I want to tell you a little bit about how Turkish tea is made.

Turkish tea is made using a çaydanlık. The container in which we make the tea is called a çaydanlık. Çaydanlık consists of two parts. There is a bottom part and a top part. First you put some tea on the top. For example, if I’m only going to make it for myself, I put 2-3 spoons of tea. Then you add boiling water to this tea. It would be better if you use drinking water. Because drinking water tastes better than tap water. You put water at the bottom of it and put it on the stove to boil. Don’t forget to turn down the heat after boiling and your tea will be ready in 20 minutes. Your tea is brewed in 20 minutes. This is called brewed tea. There are also teabags. I’m talking about the teas in those little bags. You know, you put the tea bag in a glass and then you pour hot water on it, I’m talking about that tea. You can make that tea quickly. But Turks generally do not like teabags very much. They prefer brewed tea.
